Hokianga

Tane Mahuta, the largest known Kauri Tree,  in the Waipoua Forest, Hokianga, Northland, New Zealand. Other great kauri trees are found in the Waipoua forest in the South of the Hokianga, and also in the Omahut forest at the top of the Harbour in the East.

Mangungu Mission House at Horeke id a reminder of early missionary activity in the Hokianga. On the North side of the Harbour the missionary work of Bishop Pompalier is remembered at Motuti.

The Hokianga Vehicle Ferry
