Pawarenga

The Whangape harbour marks the North-West corner of the Hokianga, which stretches southwards to the Waipoua forest and inland to East of SH 1.

North Hokianga

North Hokianga includes the towns of Kohukohu, Broadwood and Panguru, and the settlements of Pawarenga, Mitimiti, Motukaraka, Motuti, and Rangi Point.

Access from Kaitaia and the North is from SH 1 at Mangamuka Bridge or via Ahipara and Herikino.

Access from the South and East is by the Vehicle Ferry from Rawene.
