Hokianga

The Waterfall on the walking track in the Waiotemaram Gorge.

The entrance to the track in next to the Labrynth and Maze Craft Shop.

The walk carries on up the hill to the summit.

A swim in the waterfall pool is very refreshing.

Other places to visit include the

old butter factory at Waimamaku - now a Cafe -, the Kauris in Waipoua Forest, and the spherical boulders at Koutu

 

South Hokianga  


South Hokianga consists of the settlements of Waipoua, Waimamaku, Omapere, Opononi, Pakanae, Koutu, Whirinaki, Rawene, Waima, Taheke and Moehau.

It is connected by SH 12 through the Waipoua Forest to Dargaville and the South, by SH 12 through Taheke to Kaikohe and the East, and by the Ferry from Rawene to the North
